FESTIVALS Events celebrating the appearance of the Supreme Lord and His devotees take place regularly both at the Temple and at different venues throughout the city. The temple hosts festivals such as Sri Krishna Janmastami, Rama Navami, Gaura Purnima and Radhastami with great reverence, inviting everyone to take part in kirtana, deity-bathing ceremonies, discourses and vegetarian feasts. Additionally, programs are held regularly in the Western suburbs of the city by the Nama-Hatta group, operating in Liverpool on the first Sunday of the month, and Blacktown on the 4th Sunday of each month. The temple in North Sydney holds it's Sunday Feast every week beginning at 4.30pm, with a regular turn-out of 2-300 guests. Ratha-Yatra festivals are held periodically throughout the year, where Lord Jagannatha rides on His 30-foot tall custom-built wooden cart, and Bondi Beach has been the location for festivals in past years. Check the calendar for details on upcoming events.
