The ISKCON Sydney temple of Sri Sri Radha Gopinath has been in the current location since 1992, when the building was first purchased.

The devotees built and developed the temple complex which includes various areas such as the beautiful altar , large congregation hall, Gopinath’s Restaurant dining room along with outdoor seating areas, kitchen & storage areas, entrance lobby, temple shop as well as an ashram for the devotees.

The kitchen and its supporting facilities were built during the initial construction phase.

Due to rapid growth in Krishna Consciousness in the Sydney region over the past 15 years, the kitchen has become inadequate to serve the ever increasing needs of the expanding community.

The ISKCON centre has been successful beyond expectation!

We have now reached a stage where the kitchen needs complete refurbishment.

Krishna’s Kitchen is the heart of all the activities in the temple.

It is the hub for the Hare Krishna Food for Life free food distribution program in the Sydney region.

It also caters for various festivals and social events. Here the devotees prepare meals to offer to Krishna. We are fortunate enough to receive Krishna’s mercy by honouring these wonderful preparations as Prasadam.

Food for Life is a global non-profit organisation, bringing food and life to the needy through the liberal distribution of pure vegetarian meals.

We provide free, healthy meals to the hungry every single day! We also help the elderly and student communities with subsidized, inexpensive, yet quality meals!!

Goals for Food for Life:

Expand Distribution: To help co-ordinate and expand the distribution of pure vegetarian meals all over Australia!!

Government Recognition: To present Food for Life to the government, media and public through various means.

Emergency Relief: To coordinate and sponsor emergency relief efforts conducted by Food for Life.

We received Quotations for the overall costs involved from various construction companies.
Finally the project was awarded to:
