THE SUNDAY FEAST FESTIVAL

The Sunday Feast Festival

About the Festival

Every Sunday, Sri Sri Radha Gopinatha Temple at North Sydney serves a free, sumptuous vegetarian Feast from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

The Sunday ‘Love Feast’ was introduced in the mid-1960s by ISKCON founder Acharya His Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada popularly known as Srila Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada introduced this weekly festival as part of his overall preaching program. He would personally invite guests, cook an entire meal, serves the devotees a variety of preparations and give a talk on Bhagavad-gita. Since then, this weekly Sunday Love Feast Festival is celebrated in all the Hare Krishna Temples around the world.

ISKCON Sydney has continued this festival and invites each and everyone to participate and enjoy the sumptuous vegetarian feast. The prasad (sanctified food) is also distributed for free within the 10 km area around our temple to homeless and hungry people all 365 days of the year, hail, rain or shine. Our distribution van delivers this prasad to various areas and makes sure that people are fed properly. This has been happening for the past 37 years.

Temple also runs a charitable sponsorship program and invites anyone and everyone to come forward and sponsor the Sunday Feast, the benefits of that are as follows:
