The festival of Ram Navami marks the birthday celebrations of the Supreme Lord Sri Rama. According to the ancient Vedic calendar, it falls in the Spring season. It is considered auspicious to undertake a fast on the day in the name of Rama. Devotees perform elaborate worships and chant the name of Rama. Temples of Rama decorated with flowers, leaves and have special services and bhajan sessions throughout the day. Stories from the Ramayana are read out in joyous public gatherings. Most people fast until midnight.

(Food for Life) provides free nutritious vegetarian meals to everyone. established by Srila Prabhupada in 1972, who stated that “No one within 10 miles of a centre should go hungry”, Hare Krishna ‘Food for Life’ provides relief to needy and suffering on a worldwide scale.

Our Sydney branch of Food for Life serves around 150,000 free meals every year. Free meals are distributed across more than 20 suburbs in Sydney. Going out during the evenings on every weekday, free hot meals are served at Redfern (opposite train station), to a great response from the public.

Sastra means scripture and dana means gift. The purpose with Sastra dana is to make it possible for anyone to participate in the distribution of Srila Prabhupada's books and other Vedic literatures through sponsoring. Our goal is to present the spiritual knowledge in these books to as many people as possible.


As per the Vedic tradition, for more than five decades we offer various paraphernalia for the worship of our beloved lordships Sri Sri Radha Gopinath on a daily basis. Sri Gaura Purnima is the auspicious appearance day of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who is also known as Gauranga due to His golden complexion. This festival also marks the beginning of the New Year for Gaudiya Vaishnavas.

This year we are celebrating the 537th anniversary of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s appearance on March 27, 2024.

Lord Nityananda is known for His compassion on even the most fallen of living entities and is known as the original spiritual guide for all seeking souls.
